Choosing Your First Business Project

A business project in Edventures is where you work on a specific idea or venture. Everything you do — chat with Anna, your Business Model Canvas, action plans, notes, and team — is organised around projects. This guide helps you decide whether to create your first project during onboarding and how to do it.

What is a business project?

A business project is a container for one idea or venture. Inside it you can:

  • Chat with Anna about that specific idea and talk about anything from strategic to very detail operational topics
  • Build and refine your Business Model Canvas iteratively as your project grows and develops
  • Create action plans and action points to keep you focused and make meaningful progress
  • Add notes and collaborate with team members

Each project is separate, so you can work on multiple ideas in parallel.

‼️ NOTE: multiple business projects require a Pro subscription.

Should you create a project during onboarding?

Yes, if you already have an idea — You can start right away. Give your project a name and a description. We recommend that you use this step to make your onboarding faster and smoother, as this step helps set up a core feature of the platform right away, instead of doing it later.

However, you can skip if you’re not sure yet — Creating a project later is very easy. If you don’t have a specific business idea yet, you can take some time to explore the app first, chat with Anna, and then create a project when they’re ready. Through the general chat (found in the menu bar on the left side), you can also brainstorm ideas with Anna, who will help you create a business project once you’ve narrowed down a business idea you want to pursue.

How to create your first project

If you choose to create a project during onboarding:

  1. Enter a project name — Something clear and memorable, e.g. “My mobile app idea” or “Local bakery concept”.
  2. Add a description (optional) — A few sentences about what you’re building or exploring. This helps Anna understand your context.
  3. Confirm — Click through to continue.

What if you skip?

If you skip the project step, you’ll still complete onboarding. You can create a project later from the app. You’ll need at least one project to use most features, but there’s no rush — create one when you’re ready.

Tips for naming your project

  • Be specific — “Eco-friendly packaging startup” is clearer than “Business idea”.
  • Keep it simple — You can always rename it later.
  • Focus on what you’re building — The name helps you and Anna stay oriented.

💡 Tip: Chat with Anna to brainstorm business ideas, including coming up with a clever name for your business.
