Starting a conversation with Anna is simple. This guide walks you through opening the chat, sending a message, and getting a response.
Step 1: Open Anna chat
You can chat with Anna in two ways:
- General chat — No project needed. Use this to brainstorm freely, explore ideas, and figure out what you want to build. You can even create a new business project directly from the general chat once you’re ready.
- Project chat — If you have a business project, each one has its own dedicated chat thread with Anna. She knows your project’s context and tailors her guidance accordingly.
To open a chat:
- In the sidebar, click General chat or on one of your business projects.
- If you have a business project, click on the project you want to work on. Threads will appear below the business project.
- The chat panel will open with the conversation area and a message box at the bottom.
NOTE: The number of threads you can have are based on your subscription. To open more threads, upgrade to Pro.
Step 2: Type your message
In the message box at the bottom of the chat interface:
- Click to focus the field.
- Type your question or message.
- You can write as much or as little as you like. The more specific you are, better the conversations.
Step 3: Send your message
- Click the paper plane icon to send your message.
Your message will appear in the chat. Anna will start processing your request.
Step 4: Wait for Anna’s response
Anna will reply in a few seconds. Her response will appear in the chat as a new message. You can:
- Read the response — Scroll if it’s long.
- Ask a follow-up — Type another message to dig deeper or clarify.
- Reply to a message - Reply to a specific message in the chat history to include in your new message what you’re referring to.
- Copy a message - If you want to share or use the message Anna sent you somehwere else, you can easily copy that message by clicking the stacked papers icon.
- Like a message - If you like a reply from Anna, show us you like it by clicking the thumbs up icon.
- Don’t like a message - If you think a reply from Anna has low quality or didn’t meet your need for any reason, you can click the thumbs down icon.
Tips for better conversations
- Start with a clear question — Try explain what it is that you want or looking for in a clear way. This makes it easier for Anna to answer than a vague prompt. Think of it as asking a real coach.
- Provide context — Mention your project or idea and more details if you have that. For example: “I’m building a food delivery app for students. How do I reach my customer segment?”
- Use the Idea Capture panel — Open the side panel to work with your notes and action plans in parallel to chatting with Anna. See Using the Idea Capture panel with Anna.

Message limits
Your subscription tier affects how many messages you can send per day. Free users have a lower limit; Pro users have a 10x higher limit. If you hit your limit, you’ll need to wait until the next day or upgrade to Pro to continue chatting. See Edventures Free vs Pro for details.
